Have you ever played Insaniquarium Deluxe? I bet most of you have ever played it. It is actually a PC game. Your job actually makes sure that all of your fishes are not starving and to finish a level, you have to buy sufficient amount of eggs. At the end of a stage, you will get a pet with special abilities that can aid you to make your tasks in this game a lot easier. However, do not forget about the aliens that will attack you when you’re playing this game. They will consume you fishes and when you ran out the fishes you will fail in that level. Don’t you worry about terrific aliens; you will be equipped with a weapon that can kill them.
Maybe some of you keep asking me, where is the joyous and fascinating part of this game? Well for me I really love the part when you’ve already bought the fishes that could give you much money and everything is under control. I mean in that time, you have already had the most powerful weapon, the most sophisticated pellet, and the enormous money-provider fishes are swimming around in your tank. At this time, you get the highest self-esteem to face every alien which will occur suddenly and you just have to wait until your money is enough to purchase the pet.
Have you ever wondered what this game actually teach us real-life lessons? Let me explain briefly on this occasion.
1. Before you start the game, this game allows you to choose the pets to help you at this stage.
Each stage was designed to be different with other stages. You will find a pet that will extremely useful at one stage but useless in other levels. We can correlate this with choosing right partner in your life. For example like friends, boyfriend or girlfriend and wife or husband in your real life. I did not mean that you have to select them based on their abilities but each of your friends has special abilities that will help you someday. I just want to say that you have to be careful when you choosing them especially for your partner in life. Try to find someone who can complement you rather the person who has the same ability as you.
2. At the beginning of the stage, this game only gives you a fish or two fishes.
Just like in business, you will start your business with a few resources. But, don’t you worry; those resources will be developed into something that can pay you continually if you manage them properly. All you need at this time is patient and hardworking.
3. Suddenly the aliens will come to your tank and hunt your fish with the fear.
This game teaches you that actually life is never flat. It’s not an advertisement yet I’m not teasing you to buy potato chips. Let me make an analogy for this phenomenon. Consider the aliens are your competitors that trying to ruin your business. All you have to do is just fight them and give some trust to your partners to lend a hand to fight this dark time in your business. Be careful, attack from the competitor does not only happen once in this stage, and there will be unclear signs to show that they will come. As a result, you have to prepare all the things every time to fight them!
4. Thus when you get a little bit wealthy, you must decide what items you should buy.
The choices are only three things. Only advanced pellet, mighty weapon, or fishes that could give you a lot of money. The choice is depending on you whether you want to reduce the cost (if you buy advanced pellet, the fishes will get full last longer when you feed them), beat your competitor with your unconventional strategies (when you buy stronger weapon), or collecting more profit (if you choose to purchase bigger fishes). As a leader and manager of this game, you have to decide based on your condition and instinct. I usually buy the bigger fishes first to complete the level as fast as possible. Probably some of you will think to minimize the fee and the others will say it is better to collect the advanced weapon. All I want to say is actually everything depends on you. Hence, be wise!
5. There would be a surprise when you’ve already finished a stage.
As I mentioned before, if you completed a stage, you would get a pet. In the real life, we can associate it with a new friend. A lot of friends will come to you when you’ve already run your business successfully. They will make your business become wider and more successful. However, in this game, some pet will cause a terrible effect when you cannot use them wisely. For example, there will be a pet that formed as a submarine fish that can blow your fish but if you clicked his bomb before it is blowing another fish, you will get a lot of cash. We also can link this condition to the new friends that will give you extra benefit but you have to sacrifice something that you have.
Well, in my opinion, everything in the world gives you life lectures implicitly or explicitly if you take a look at it. Include this game. Although this game is very simple (according to me), it provides you precious experiences that maybe you can’t get it at school when you play it.
